Imagine counter tops made of recycled paper, wait you don’t have to because they are already available from Paperstone! These natural looking solid surface counter tops are amazing and the kitchen counters in my home are made from this material, which look very similar to soapstone. They are similar in cost to other natural materials like granite and soapstone but there is no destructive mining practices in the process. Paperstone is made from 100% recycled paper and a water based binder. There is no off gassing and they are holding up beautifully. American Clay – Earth Plasters

American clay produces a line on earthen clay plasters that can be applied directly to drywall or other surfaces for a very organic looking wall. The clay is very readily available and has a very low embodied energy compared to other types of plaster. The plaster also creates finishes that have many different textures to it and it is a very healthy product because there are no VOCs given off. If anything your home has a very earthy smell to it. I used it for all the wall finished in my home and my whole family loves it. I would highly recommend this product and if you take a training class you can learn to apply the material yourself.
